Real Food Shamrock Shake
Most of us have heard about the infamous “Shamrock Shake” that frequents a certain fast food restaurant every March. What most people don’t know is that it is made with a shockingly high amount of ingredients- 54 to be exact. So, it is safe to say that this is probably not something that you want to put into your body.
The good news is, like with most things, there is a healthy alternative. So, if you are craving that green minty goodness, here is a real food recipe for you!
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ tsp. peppermint extract
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ¼ avocado, peeled
- 4 Tbsp. maple syrup
- ½ cup raw spinach, packed
- 2 cups ice
Directions
- Add the milk, peppermint extract, vanilla, avocado, spinach, and maple syrup to a blender and blend until very smooth.
- Add ice cubes and blend until the mixture forms a milkshake consistency.
- Pour and enjoy!
This recipe makes 2 servings.
*This should be consumed occasionally as a treat because it contains more maple syrup than we would normally recommend
